I wish i could see any dinosaur mueseums. The onnly dinosaur fossils ive seen is an Allosaurus skeleton and moulds of a Triceratops and Edmontosaurus head in the Christchurh muesuem. But in other mueseums here they have lots of Elasmosaur and Tylosaur fossils and Moa skeletons (i know they're not dinosaurs)

I'm going to see plenty of dinosaur exhibits when I go to visit my relatives in Philadelphia this summer. There, there's the Franklin instiute and Museum of sciences where I can see the T-rex Giganotosaurus mounts, among other interesting things.

Yes!!!!! Both my mum and my dad say that I can go now!

And what's really good is that this year the summer hols start a little earlier in my school so when I go on thursday in London people should be at work or at school so only REAL proper dinosaur enthusiasts will be there. No parents teaching screaming four year olds how woolly mammoths are dinosaurs, etc.

Hey, I read this focus magazine and great news!!!!!

You may already know that last year in the Yixian formation in Liaoning in China, farmers (I think) found this interesting missing link dinosaur!

It hasn't been given a name yet but it's been nicknamed "fuzzy raptor."

It's fossil, along with some ORIGINAL ARCHAEOPTERIX FOSSILS along with some other cool finds will be on display in a special exhibition in the Natural History museum in London starting July 18th! Cool, eh? You have to admit this is a "must" for dinosaur fans. It has lots of different types of feathers, all very well preserved, and it's the smallest, lightest dromaeosaur known! And it has arms almost as long as it's legs!

Unfortunately July 18th is the last day of school for me, (it's a half day) but I'm begging my parents to miss school on that day (we don't have any lessons anyway) and for one of them to take me there on the day it opens to see me. And although my dad doesn't know yet (I'll ask him when he's in an excellent mood) my mum says she think it'll be OK as long as I get good grades etc.

Well, I meant in general.

In this case, there are two main contenders: The Polar Bear and the Kodiak Brown Bear (Ursus Arctos middendorffi). Polar bears appear to be slightly heavier if heavier at all (they both have a maximum weight of about 1500 lbs), but Kodiak Brown bears are a couple of feet longer. Kodiak bears also are more robust animals, in contrast to the more sleek, sea adapted bodies of Ursus maritimus.

When I searched for "largest land carnivore" earlier, in an attempt to
find out which bear was larger, I either found: "Kodiak Bears are the largest land carnivores in the world", "Polar Bears are the largest land carnivores in the world", or "The largest land carnivore in the world is either the Polar Bear or the Kodiak Bear depending on how one looks at them..."

I guess it's up to each of us to decide.

In what measurement? Mass? In that case it has to be the Polar Bear. It IS a land carnivore, because it attacks and eats seals on dry land.

It sits by their breathing holes and when they come up to breathe the bear grabs them.

I'm coming up with and writing down all kinds of exciting situations for the story, none of which fit together. All I have to do is get through the relatively calm beginning and then when I get the action packed bits I think I'll be more enthusiastic.
