Tyrannosaurus rex was a huge dinosaur that lived from about 85-65 million years ago. It was a meat-eating dinosaur, a carnivore. It walked on two powerful legs and had tiny arms, each with two fingers. T. rex was about 40 feet (12.4 m) long. Its jaws alone were about 4 feet (1.2 m) long.

Tyrannosaurus rex probably lived in forests, where its prey (plant-eating dinosaurs) lived. This giant ate large dinosaurs, like Triceratops. This is known because bits of Triceratops bone have been found in fossilized T. rex feces.

T. rex was one of the last of the dinosaurs to live on Earth. It died out during the K-T extinction, a major mass extinction event in which many different types of animals and plants died out.
