Juvinile Alxasaurus being 11 meters? HA HA HA HA HA! Where do you live? Bizzaro World? I was about to vote for Alxasaurus but I saw that apparently most of Alxasaurus votes come in because of misinformation (11 meter juvinile Alxasaurus??). So I would never vote for such a detestable animal! So this vote is for T.Rex!!!!
from ?, age ?, ?, ?, ?; April 15, 2001

My my, you are caught up in your little world are you? The simple reason why nobody likes Alxasaurus but T.Rex is because they have considered the real facts! THe real facts are that T.Rex was bigger, smarter, smarter, faster and tougher than lame ol' Alxasaurus! T.Rex coudl easily beat, smash and mutilate Alxasuarus
from Lillian T., age 14, ?, ?, ?; April 15, 2001

I'm going to say the big bony one is gonna win this fight. Why? Because the Velociraptors are totally outta their league here man! I mean Velociraptors are used to attacking smaller prey like a 2 meter long Protoceratops, not a 10 meter long Ankylosaurus! And not to mention, Ankylosaurus has impressive armour and weaponary designed to resist Tyrannosaurus (not many animals can do that) In short, this fight is like getting 15 infantrymen, arming them with nothing but rifles, and asking them to take on a Main Battle Tank! It's no contest!

Ankylosaurus will win!
from Jim R., age 11, LA, CA., USA; April 15, 2001

from Liana S., age seven, newport news, virginia, united states; April 15, 2001

Velicoraptor , because even though it was a bit medium sized it had good skills. With the sharp tow nails too cut you open. Then the amzing jumps it could make. The pefect spots too kill any dino. Planely i think its really cool. Its not too small not too big not too slow and not so ordinary like t. rex. I bet every one ikes the t. rex because it was huge big and some think it was the king of all dinos. I look for what i like in a dino not what ever poeple say. I mean come on think of the t. rexes arms you know how small they are he probaby couldnt itch his neck. Now im not saying not to pick t. rex but find what you really like in a dino.

from Timmy T, age 7, Nottingham, NH, USA; April 15, 2001

Velociraptors will pummel the guts out of that stupid slow Ankylosaurus! It's no contest!!! Argh! Why are so many people saying Ankyolsaurus will win? Plueze! Raptors are the best! I am really sad that they lost the last fight with T-REX!
from Velociraptor, age ?, ?, ?, ?; April 15, 2001

My favorite dinosaur is the velocorapter. I like them because they can run fast.
from Chris M, age 10, Arnold, Mo., NorthAmerica; April 15, 2001

Well Donovan, I surmise Ankylosaurus was pretty immune from all o fthe predators of its time, and no T.Rex in his right mind will take on a Ankylosaurus that is aware of it. However, some Ankylosaur fossils are found upside down, which is quite a sure sight of predation, for the fallen carcass of a 7-ton Ankylosaur is impossible to flip due to its low center of gravity. In fact, the best way to flip an Ankylosaurus is when its up on its four feet and when it's center of gravity is higher, but its still quite a hard task. The only animal I can think which comes close to flipping an Ankylosaur is T.Rex, and I think he did. T.Rex in its day probably surprised the browsing Ankylosaur, tipped it before it could respond and delivered the fatal bite to its neck. I must admit though, this in itself is a difficult task. Without the element of surprise, T.Rex probally wouldn't try. And fossils of some T.Rex do appear to show Ankylosaur inflicted fractures th! at later healed, evidence of the prehaps only animal that T.Rex could not beat everytime.

Ankylosaurus will win this grudge match, no problem. And to Hobbes, what was your refrence to China for? Do you have no respect for China? Do not use China in any of your degradotary insults to booster Alxasaurus, no matter how much they matter to you.

T-rex is my favourite dinosour & It was the biggest & Greatest hunter of history
from Nikhil W., age 16, Mumbai, Maharashtra, India; April 15, 2001

Err, to all concerned with the Grudgematch, this is between Velociraptor and Ankylosaurus, so keep it revelant. Besides Hobbes, I checked out Alxasaurus on the Dinosauricon (the most comprehensive and up to date online dinosaur index I know) and a number of other dinosaur indexes, and nobody mentioned that Alxasaurus even reached a length of 11 meters. Where did you get your 11 meter figure from? JC, could you shed any light on Alxasaurus best and most up to date measurements? To the best of my knowledge, Alxasaurus only reached 4 to 5 meters, max.
from Honkie Tong, age 16, ?, ?, ?; April 15, 2001
Alxasaurus was from 11.5 to 13 feet (3.5 to 4 m) long. JC

True ankylosaurus fan, penatrating the armour.but there will be little damamage. the armour is harder than stegosaurus's spikes and crocodile's scales only the spikes are damaged but not the armour and what's the point of being a fan when you don't support. anyway I had shifted votes.
from DONOVAN R, age 10, ?, singapore, ?; April 14, 2001

Ankylosaurus fan,I also vote that dinosaur and don't be so sure tha t-rex can flip ankylosaur in 5 minutes isn't the ankylosaurus going to react? I mean ankylosaurus is heavier than t-rex and can have a hit when that ankylosaurid is threatend. oops wrong vote I'm shifting to vote euplocephalus, pinacosaurus, paleocincus and that's all.
from DONOVAN R., age 10, ?, SINGAPORE, ?; April 14, 2001

I suspect that when the tough-as-nails Ankylosaurus meets the scravny, dog sized Velociraptors, it will laugh very hard for about 5 minutes while the Velociraptors pick ineffectively away at it. After it regains its composure, it will then bash the Velociraptors to pulp.

Ankylosaurus will win this match I say.
from A Grude Match fan, age ?, ?, ?, ?; April 14, 2001

Hmm, this is a tough one to call, but I'll give it to the Velociraptors. Despite all of Ankylosaurus' armour, 15 Velociraptors pounding him would get in some hits to his unprotected areas, like his underbelly. Of course, Ankylosaurus could bunker down and thus be completely immune to Velociraptor attack, but that dosen't help to end the match. I would call this a draw, though some Velociraptors are likely to die from that infernal tail club... but despite losing a good portion of the pack, they will probally suceed in making the Ankylosaurus retreat. Not a complete victory, but a moral one. So I, after much consideration, say the Velociraptors will, just barely win.
from None whatsover, age 15, ?, ?, ?; April 14, 2001

11 meter long juvinile Alxasaurus? I think they left out a decimal point. A juvinile Alxasaurus shoudl be 1.1 meters long. Anyway, this is my vote for T.Rex.
from ?, age ?, ?, ?, ?; April 14, 2001

My favorite dinosaur is the Tyrranosaurus Rex because it's the most deadly and also the mightiest of all the dinosaurs.
from Debarshi C, age 17yrs, Kolkata, West Bengal, India; April 13, 2001

Just when I was about to vote for the Velociraptors, it was brought to my attention that the Raptors (Toronto, NBA (tm)) can't beat anyone! Now, is it just coincidence that an NBA (tm) franchise has nearly 15 players on the roster? I think not. Is it a coincidence th at both prehistoric and NBA (tm) Raptors have impressive veritcal leaping ability? I think not. Is it coincidence that most Raptor fossils are found in Canada? I think not. These indisputable facts lead me to the obvious conclusion that the Ankylosaurus will use his mighty tail club and blast the Raptors to kibble and wipe the electric fences with their carcii like the prehistoric, peanut-brained, reptilian scum that they are.

After the contestants are announced, the bell rings and the fight is under way. Sadly, years of exposure to fustrated Tyrannosaur roars and loud predator sounds have left Ankylosaurus completely deaf. He is still ranting incoherently and making incomprehensible threats to the officials when the Velociraptors makes their move.

Years of sparring against sides of ceratopsian carcasses has toughened Velociraptor, and given them an awesome jab. Of course, it has also given him Mad Ceratopsian Disease (tm). The Velociraptors' bloodshot, bleary Eye of the Tiger (tm) falls on Ankylosaurus. They lowers his head, bellows, and charges toward Ankylosaurus.

The collision between an irresistable force (The irresistable attraction of the overhyped raptors to the public) and an immovable object (Ankylosaurus impressive armour suite and bulk), creates a Rift in the Time-Space Continuum (tm) propelling both fighters to Bizarro World (tm). Supreme Court Justice O.J. Simpson awards the Velociraptors the Nobel Peace Prize, and Ankylosaurus is appointed Director of the Pauly Shore Institute for Advanced Technological Studies.

However, Ankylosaurus soon invents a super weapon to destroy the Velociraptors, and thus, wins the grudgematch....aww...
from Dr Dave, age ?, ?, ?, ?; April 13, 2001

To that decluded person voting for Alxasaurus. T-Rex would woop his arse anytime! It's a proven paleontologicalfact that T-Rex was pound for pound, far deadiler, tougher and stronger than Alxasaurus and it wouldn't matter even if Alxasaurus was 20 meters long, T-Rex would easily (and I mean easily) beat him. Besides, no Alxasaurus was known to exceed 11 meters (so quit bluffing). This is stupid, Alxasaurus was nothign more than a giant goose vs. T-Rex's monster smash mouth. No contest and this is my vote for him.
from Hiller M., age 12, New York, ?, USA; April 13, 2001

I think you are getting your dinosaurs mixed up hobbes. Alxasaurus never exceeded 5 meters. Just what on earth are you talking about? And to a certain M., we have been through this a couple of hundred times and it's well established that Tyrannosaurus was probably larger than Giganotosaurus, and even if it was not, it was still way toughter and stronger and could beat it on a one to one.
from Leonard, age 13, ?, ?, ?; April 13, 2001

Ankylosaurus vs. Tyrannosaurus? You gotta be kidding! Ankylosaurus will beat the pulp out of any Velociraptor that gets to close to it. And what can the Velociraptors do to Ankyolsaurus? They can't flip it like T.Rex can, and their weapons are incapable of penetrating the Ankylosaurs' armour.

Ankyolsaurus in 5 minutes.

Well, I have noted that Grudge Matches (tm.) here are relatively popular, so I'll take the step of presenting the next one:

Ankylosaurus

vs.

A pack of 15 Velociraptors

Ps. Remember guys, no personal insults and try to be creative. The Final Word (tm.) will be issued a week from now.
from Honkie Tong, age 16, ?, ?, ?; April 13, 2001

Good point raised Rock, and I would also like to point out a fatal flaw in hobbes argument which links Alxasaurus with Hobbes (the real one), the Beatles, The Simpsons and Michael Jordan. Well, for one thing, these groups and individuals are most noted for being POPULAR, somethign which Alxasaurus certainly is not. Tyrannosaurus Rex fits the bill far better, with over 3,800 votes compaired to Alxasaurus pathetic 2. So the truth is, Tyrannosaurus is to dinosaurs what Hobbes is to comic strip characters, what the Beatles are to music, what the Simpsons are to cartoons, what Michael Jordan is to sports, in other words he is the BEST.

Don't feel sad hobbes, but you have just accidently "voted" for Tyrannosaurus.

Usually, most grudge matches are ended after a week of voting. As of so, I am ending this grudge match with:

THE FINAL WORD (TM.)whupped

T.Rex (16 votes/ 89 %) whupps:

Deinonychus (2 votes/ 11%)

And will now take a snack

Comments: A truly one-sided grudge match here. Even from the first vote of confidence, it was rather clear who would win. In fact, I was thinking of discounting one vote for Deinonychus as it was a double vote from Joe Bob B, but decided against it as it would not have made any difference. A truly heavy trashing here, no contest. Apparently, T.Rex opened some cans of Whoop-arse* (tm.) here.

Whoop-arse*: A harsh beating. Generally packaged in easy-opening cans. Frequently seen in Grudge Matches.

NOTE: Because of forces beyond our control, the regular writer of this piece, Paul G., is unavailable. He was last seen leaving a computer lab cursing "Why don't they use the &%^%$%# transporters! I HATE STAR TREK PLOT HOLES! THIS IS WORSE THAN STAR TREK V!" Filling in this week is fellow Seton Hall alumnus Dick Vitale:

T-Rex vs. Deinonychus, BABY! IT'S SHOWTIME! And talk about a mismatch. Deinonychus is WAY out of his league. We're talkin' St. Leo's at Georgetown, Baby! I mean, Deinonychus does great in-pack against other medium and small herbivores . BUT NOBODY LOSES TO MEDIUM AND SMALL HERBIVORES! IT MEANS NOTHING! Let's look at the non-confs. He was beat up by a couple of panicky humans in jurassic park and The Lost World. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! PANICKY HUMANS?! You gotta beat those guys for me, baby! We're talkin' CUPCAKE CITY!

Meanwhile, T-Rex is dominating all over. I LOVE THIS GUY! He beats up everybody! He's ripping the heads off duckbills! He's throwing mangled prey parts great distances with JUST ONE JAW! He defeats sailors and kills the entire crew of a ship WHILE IMPRISIONED IN THE CARGO COMPARTMENT! If he wore clothes, he would be one of my diaper dandies, BABY! DIPSY-DOO, DUNK-A-ROO! BLOWOUT CITY! Deinonychus is headin' for the basketball court in the sky!

T.Rex will whup a couple of Deinonychus arse and win this match, I vote for him!

(NOTE: For the college basketball impaired, we offer this alternative conmentary from 13-time WCW world champion, Ric Flair:

TO BE THE MAN, YOU GOTTA BEAT THE MAN! AND T-REX *IS* THE MAN! *WHOOOOOOOOoooooooo!* )
from Dick V., age 14, Sidney, Southeast, Australia; April 11, 2001

T-Rex will win for a very simple reason. It is a matter of clear record that when T-Rexes lose, they pull dinosaurs' arms out of their sockets. If the Deinonychus have lost their arms, they have clearly lost. Therefore, if T-Rex loses, he will win. If he wins, then obviously he has won. Either way, T-Rex wins.

In a grudgematch, the odds are greatly against Deinonychus winning. Even if they outnumbered T-Rex 100 to 1, the odds will still be 1 out of 100 against them.

One hundred million years ago, give or take a few, a Seismosaurus was swallowing some stones. Like birds, sauropods used gizzard stones to masticate their food. This particular beastie swallowed a stone that was too large and choked to death.
Swallowing a stone that's too big is not too bright. Leaving your remains around for one hundred million years for paleontologists to figure out exactly how stupid you were deserves the prize.

That's why I don't vote for the loser Seismosaurus, this vote is for T.Rex.
from Emar, age ?, ?, ?, ?; April 10, 2001

I don't think Joe Bob's plan of runnign T.Rex into a wall would work for 3 main reasons:

Reason 1: T.Rex is way too smart to fall for that one.

Reason 2: T.Rex is way too tough to be hurt by that one.

Reason 3: The Deinonychus are way too stupid to fall for that one.

And that's why I think Joe Bob's plan will fail. T.Rex will kill the Deinonychus in short order and with little difficulty. Why do you think he's called the Tyrant King of Dinosaurs anyway?

And this is a vote for him.

Actually, if the grudge match was in a confined space, Deinonychus would clearly have the advantage. The deinonychus (in a pack) would run toward a wall, so the T-rex would follow them a full speed. The T-rex, being heavy, would gain momentum as he ran, so his big, clunky head would slam into the wall. Ouch! The T-rex, being dazed, would stagger around like he was drunk. He would fall, but most of the raptors would get away. The fall, combined with his head ramming into the wall, would knock him out. The raptors, seeing their chance, would rip into him, slicing up vital organs. If the T-rex woke up while they were doing this, he would bleed to death. As always, this is a vote for raptors.

Got to hand this one to the Big, N' Scaly Dude called T.Rex. You see, the raptor fans will probally cheat and genetically alter the raptors to be smarter then normal, hoping to give them a advantage in battle their IBM era brains never did. Unfortunately, giving them such intelligence also gave them a more upright posture (like us humans), exposing, fatally, their groins.

So one mightly reptilian kick with a Bambi-crushing(tm) foot would leave the raptors writhing on the ground in extreme pain. Worse, I suspect that T.Rex has been genetically (well, two can play this game) altered to spit atomic fire just like Godzilla, AND has been watching John Woo flicks during his deep ocean catnaps and will roast their groins with a flame blast as he flies sideways through the air for no apparent reason. Ouch.

The Deinonychus' only prayer is that they keeps their groins intact but gets singed enough to unleash the floodgates of RAGE(tm). Considering that T.Rex relies more on massive gouts of flame than pinpoint accuracy however, this is unlikely.

T.Rex in under two minutes
from Chancellor, Province of Chiriatti, age ?, ?, ?, ?; April 5, 2001

Hey guys! First off, as a long-time and HUGE Grudge Match (tm) fan, I am glad to see that even though it is coming to an end (sniff sniff) that it's spirit lives on. Congrats on a terrific job!!!

Now with the boot licking out of the way, let's get down to business. The deciding factor in this match will be THE MEDIA (tm). You see, THE MEDIA (tm), particularly the Papparazzi (tm), you know the guys who follow Princess Diana like lost puppies (can't blame 'em)? But, with the emergence of not one, but a FEW prehistoric creatures, the entire MEDIA FORCE (tm) of the entire city of the grudge match will be on hand. Now, the reason why this is such an important fact is due to the track records of the two prehistoric combatants. Much like the Stormtroopers (tm), any Raptor has trouble when on film; that is, they always ends up screwing up with the camera rolling (as proven by all dinosaur movies). Tyrannosaurus, however, is virtually unstoppable once filming begins! Just look at his track record, fer chrissakes! And with all those movies under his belt, no way is he getting camera shy! So, here is how it plays out.........

Both exceptionally prehistoric creatures meet in the streets to duke it out. A mighty battle ensues, and the Deinonychus, due to THEIR superior numbers, is able to take the early upper hand. But, once the glint of the cameras start, they feels the need to perform, starts to yield to the pressure, and eventually loses their composure. Big-T senses his adversary start to lessen up on him, and, with a wink, nod and smirk to the cameras, bludgeons Deinonychus (And the Utahraptors too), living it up in the limelight. Thus, as the final shot fades out, T-Rex is returning to the forrest at sunset with hundreds of raptor carcasses strewn behind. So there you have it, this is my vote for T-Rex!

(Ps. This coudl be the reason why the raptors keep losing in Dino Warz)
from Adam B., age 13, Ok. City, Ok., USA; April 5, 2001

Joe Bob B. ... you need to brush up on your dinosaur facts.

Two counterexamples, (1) Who the heck would get Deinonychus mixed up with the puny Velociraptor?? It's people who think that Velociraptor was the size of Deinonychus, due to the spastic JP movies (and we dun see raptors winning in there). I think you are insulting the intelligence of all those you say who are "mixing it up". (2) And from the fossil record as people have stated earlier, it has been proven the raptors are wussies! Look at this: In order to kill a 1 ton Tendonosaur, they lost 4 raptors? So I can't imagine what would happen if they took on a 6 ton T.Rex! No to mention T.Rex was pound for pound, far meaner and tougher than any Tendonotosaur. Therefore, by the power vested in me by the State of New York, I declare your points null and void.
from Lillian T., age 14, ?, ?, ?; April 5, 2001

Oh, somebody is finally speaking up for Deinonychus (or was it Utahraptor?)! I'm so shocked, I don't know where to start. Ok, let me go witht he obvious again. No, 5 Utahraptors could not kick T.Rex's arse. Why? Because Utahraptors were designed to kill herbivores that don't BITE back! Not to mention, Scientists agree T.Rex was probally the toughest dinosaur pound for pound (besides the ankylosaurs) that ever lived. Not are the raptors going to have alotta trouble bringing him down, they are also going have to avoid his bites at the same time. Which is quite difficult, considering the fact that a T.Rex can run as fast as a Utahraptor (a proven fact) and bite thirty times as hard. In pound for pound deadilness T.Rex is hard to beat. While the Utahraptors are running their lame arses around, trying to get something in at T.Rex, all T.Rex needs to get is five bites and it's over for ther Utahraptor gang. It's simply no contest. Why? Because T.Rex was designed to take down animals many times wee Utahraptor's size in A SINGLE bite, and would certainly have no trouble killing Utahraptor in one. WHat could Utahraptor do? Well, he could kick and bite at T.Rex, but I doubt they could dead out as much damage as T.Rex could easily do in a blink of an eye. So this is it, T.Rex would knock out the raptors real quick, and eat them too. Deinonychus? Well, considering how fast T.Rex creamed Utahraptor, I think the Deinonychus (only a wee 10 feet long) are going to cry like ninnys when T.Rex opens a fresh can of Whup Arse (tm) on them!

Deinonychus was a lot tougher than you seem to think he was. Plus, Deinonychus was a lot bigger than a turkey. Have you ever seen a ten-foot-long turkey? I didn't think so. Five Utahraptors could kick a T-rex's @$$, so according to the size difference, twenty deinonychus could do the same in half the time. You seem to confuse deinonychus and velociraptor, because that primitive and puny raptor meets your description. Like always, this is a vote for raptors.

OK, I'll put this simply so the readers of Marvel Comics can understand me...Spiderman is going down faster than mayfiles in winter.

That's right! The T-rex is gonna end up squishing the Deinonychus, and I'll tell you why: Staying Power

The T-rex is just like Rocky Balboa, form and coordination just aren't that important when you have an unbelieveable amount of muscle and limitless stamina. Did you see what Rocky ended up doing to that Russky after taking a beating for 10 rounds?! We know from fossils T-rex got bitten, hit, wacked, bashed and slugged by other dinosaurs (Including toher T-rex), and came away with no more injury than a mild case of British. That's tough.

Sure, the Deinonychus (I'm assuming it's a pack here) might get in the early hits...they'll probably manage to climb onto T-rex to attack and avoid the deadly jaws, but then what? they'll have to resort slapping T-rex like the sissy that they all are until he's all tired out? THAT'S when T-rex shakes off the raptors and opens up a fresh can of Whupp-Arse TM.

And now that we get to it, Deinonychus is a one-trick-pony. He's a oversized bird-with-arms who's only fighting tactic is to flash some Look-Really-Deadily-But-Is-Actually-Overhyped leg claws. (Ever wondered how THAT idea occured to him?) I mean come on! The raptor body plan is nothing more than a chicken with arms and leg claws!

The T-rex, on the other hand, is endlessly versatile. Deinonychus will be saying to himself "Hmmmm, maybe I'l shoot climb onto him..." when all of a sudden, he'll be hit with a facefull of kitchen! Or maybe if T-rex is in a generous mood, he'll plop Lil' Raptor down in the World's Most Comfortable Chair. However he choses to dispatch the overrated little freak of the paleontological world, Deinonychus will never know what hit him!

Lastly, I should point out that the Tick has a cool battle cry...Spidey's got zilch. The first time Petey-boy hears the awe-inspiring call of "SPOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOON!!!!!!!!!!" the only part of him that'll be sticking to the walls will be his drawers.

T-REX BECAUSE IT IS A MEAT EATER.
from kyle b., age 9, N.J., USA, CAMDEN; April 5, 2001

I think it's not really a fair fight as the Raptors will cheat. They will keep throwing as many of their numbers at T.Rex until he realizes he's out numbered 1000 to 1. SO what does he do? He calls in his big brother, scientific name Tyrannosaurus Rex Osborn Atomius Maximus...aka. Godzilla! The REALLY big green! Not the spastic Godzilla you see in the movie, but the hyper fast and super strong one you see in the cartoon! Godzilla will fry all of raptordom with his atomic breath befor you can say...."now wasn't that sweet?"

And T.Rex wins the day! Here's an extra vote for him!
from Steve P., age 12, ?, ?, Aus.; April 4, 2001

Seeing people actually go through the trouble of responding to such a one-sided fight between Tyrannosaurus rex and Deinonychus antirrhopus, I thought I might add in my own pound of salt's worth to this argument:

I figure it comes down to two things: surface area of the Tyrannosaurus' mouth (as opposed to the s.a. of the individual Deinonychus' mouth) and gastrointestinal fortitude.

If a Tyrannosaurus has a mouth that is, oh, say five feet long and two feet wide(I am doing the math slowly for you science boys and rounding to the nearest foot, of course), that means that the Tyrannosaurus has 10 square feet of mouth surface. I'd say that with that kind of coverage, every time the Tyrannosaurus makes contact with a small Deinonychus body or head (as opposed to grabbing a leg), he inflicts a mortal injury, if not an immediately killing blow. Meanwhile, your average chicken-in-dinosaur clothing has about, oh, say 0.5 square inches of mouth area, which means it can't even encompass one bulging Tyrannosaurus muscle in its wee yapper. So the Deinonychus are just barely breaking the skin, but the Tyrannosaurus just has to stay angry enough to take about twelve bites--okay, allow about five or six extra bites for the Deinonychus as he only gets by a leg the first time. He'll have to go back and take a second chomp once the maimed Deinonychus are down and helpless. Well, some people would argue that the Deinonychus coudl use their sickle claws, but I doubt a gash is anywhere near as deadly as a Tyrannosaur bite. Tyrannosaurus certainly packs more firepower into a bite from his jaws than a pack of six to twelve raptors.

Will the chicken-like Deinonychus take this lying down? Only if the Tyrannosaurus just grabs their legs on the first bite, allowing them to survive the first Tyrannosaur attack. But they are better off attacking a carcass that rarely fights back instead of an angry big Tyrannosaur. But everyone knows that Raptors in general (including Deinonychus) have tender stomachs and get sick at the drop of a hat. Remember the fossils of Deinonychus found around a Tendontosaurus carcass? Apparently the carcass went bad and they died from food poisioning. The Deinonychus will just get sick all over the carpet, thereby inducing all its pack buddies to begin woofing (pardon the pun) all over the carpet too. Soon the Tyrannosaurus will have Deinonychus *and* dessert.....

What?!! True, the Deino have numbers and advantadge, but those won't be nearly enough. Those little rug rats won't even be able to break the skin on that big Tyrant lizard! That Rexy is 100+ pounds of kick-raptor smashing muscle! Have you ever seen a REAL Deino? What are they good for? All they ever do is shake and pee on themselves. This is like saying 24 flies are a match for a bullfrog. No way. No matter how many there are, they can't do any damage to that Tyrannosaur beast. Snack time!!

Dinofighting is disgusting and reprehensible(there I just wanted to see if I could spell r..)

The T.rex would pound the little yap raptors, no feek. T.rex is smarter than you think, and unfortunately often meaner, they will probally have no problem catching the skittish raptors and demolishing them in a bite. The turkey-like Deinonychus mostly stand there with all their nice claws and screech. I forsee a one sided bloodbath, after which the world will be a little better place (Who needs such stupid raptors anyway?). Now. A T.rex, V.S, his/her weight in raptor fans. That might be interesting.

So we have a grudgematch here eh? Well, imagine my good fortune. I'm here to argue for the Tyrannosaurus and, coincidentally, the Tyrannosaurus will win. Why? You see, the Tyrannosaurus is "MIGHTY!" Just ask him; he'll tell you.

Tyrannosaurus, by their very nature are virtually indestructible. Deinonychus, however, are not. Have you seen how easily the raptors in all the dinosaur movers are creamed? Pretty easy, isn't it? Have you seen a Tyrannosaurus in any movie been taken down without much effort? Nope. It can't be done. At least it can't without doing major damage to whatever it is the Tyrannosaurus is attacking.

The Tyrannosaurus is also very destructive, as proven by looking at the building and heavy machinery that he attacked in the Jurassic Park and Lost World movies. Deinonychus can't destroy anything. He climbs walls, tries to operate doors and catches things in the movie. Whoop-dee-doo! Put him in the outfield or at shortstop, but not in a mano a mano grudgematch. His powers are of no use in this contest.

The Tyrannosaurus wins, with enough time for a heroically profound moral.

Deinonychus arent that tough. They look tough sure, but they aren't bad arses. The have the advantage over the Tyrannosaurus for numbers but Tyrannosaurus are mean. Not kinda mean like the little lady next door who kept your wiffle ball when it went over her fence. Mean like Hillary Clinton. The main thing that Deinonychus do to humans is swarm them and get a few of their number creamed in the process (as supported by the fossil record). Considering their attiriton rate, they probally aren't half as tough as they seem. Tyrannosaurus on the other hand have huge nasty teeth! Sharp teeth, and nothing freaks him out . A Tyrannosaurus wouldn't think tiwce of eating a Deinonychus, and that's what they would do. The Tyrannosaurus would subjugate the raptors to do their every bidding, having them collect said kolbasa and bringing it as offerings to the current world leaders, the Tyrannosaurus. Well not new leaders, as most world leaders are already Tyrants,! albeit of a differnt genus.

A grudge match? You're joking, right? How could an argument as one-sided as this ever linger over the (supposedly) intelligent memebers of the internet community? I'm so shocked I don't even know where to begin... I guess I'll start off with the obvious. The Tyrannosaurus can pulverize a hardosaur in a bite! Even with Deinonychus "givin' her all she's got," there's no way a Deinonychus could withstand even one hit by that thing. And that's just the jaw. Tyrannosaurus could also use other physical attacks like stomping and ramming, each of which would cause Deinonychus & Co. to go flying over the bridge railing if they hit them. And of course, hitting Deinonychus wouldn't be difficult at all considering Tyrannosaurus's almost as manuverable as the raptor. Also, did I mention that Tyrannosaurs probally hunted in groups? Multiples of them would descend on a Deinonychus pack and chomp them into smithereens. Also, did I mention the superior mobility and ! strength of Tyrannosaurus? It would use it to outdistance any ol' Deinonychus and tire it out while the monster jaw gets warmed up...

Ok, now let's look at what the Deinonychus can do. A) Try to bite Tyrannosaurus or kick at it. Oh no! You've ruined the new skin treatment on my Tyrannosaurus! The Tyrannosaurus is so huge, that the Deinonychus could hit at it all day and still not do anything significant to it. (Like big T. would allow it yo) B) Run away. Yes, they could do that. They better do that if they want to live.

Even in a pack, I doubt Deinonychus too much more of a difference. Remember, skeletons of four Deinonychus were found attacking a plant eater who died in the process. And not to mention, Tyrannosaurus is about 5 times heavier and larger and boasts a good set of claws and teeth to go.Even in a pack. Deinonychus puree anyone?

So it is, Tyrannosaurus will win in 3.7 seconds if it's a single Deinonychus, 19.7 if it's a pack.

And yes, this is a vote for Tyrannosaurus
