These two-page print-outs make word wheels; each one consists of a base page together with a wheel that spins around (they are connected by a metal brad). When you spin the wheel, words are formed or displayed. Heavy paper (like cardstock) makes better wheels.

When you spin the wheel, words containing a long "a" sound appear, including cage, rain, cake, nail, rake, whale, table, acorn, plate, gate, daisy, and ape. The student then writes down the words.
