Most hares live for about a year in the wild. These solitary animals are hunted by dogs, foxes, raccoons, weasels, bobcats, lynxes, hawks, eagles, and people. Hares have a fast reproductive rate.
Anatomy: Jack Rabbits are about 2 feet (0.6 m) long. They have very long, powerful hind legs and big hind feet which they use to leap and to dig burrows. Their ears are about 5 inches (13 cm) long.
Diet: Jack Rabbits are herbivores (plant-eaters). They eat grasses, herbs, leaves, bark, and twigs.
