Trachodon (pronounced TRACK-oh-don) is a plant-eating dinosaur that is known only from a few teeth and jaw parts that were found in Montana, USA. From the teeth, it has been surmised that Trachodon was probably a duck-billed dinosaur (a lambeosaurine hadrosaur). Trachodon dates from the late Cretaceous period, about 77-73 million years ago.

Diet: Trachodon was an herbivore (a plant-eater). It had a toothless bill but many cheek teeth which it used to chew tough plant material.

Anatomy: This ornithischian dinosaur probably had a bulky body, a stiff tail, and four legs. Trachodon's size is unknown. No one knows what color Trachdon was (or indeed, what color any of the dinosaurs were).

Name: Trachodon (meaning "rough tooth") was named in 1856 by Joseph Leidy; the type species is Trachodon mirabilis. Trachodon is a dubious genus due to the sparsity of fossils.
