Fibonacci Day

Fibonacci Day

Today, 5/8/13, is Fibonacci Day!

The Fibonacci sequence is generated by starting with a seed of two 1s; each number in turn is then the sum of the previous two:

1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, ...

The graph shows a function whose zeros ("roots") are precisely the Fibonacci numbers.

The number 1 appears twice in the Fibonacci sequence, and you can even see the double zero at 1 (the graph just touches the x-axis at x = 1 instead of crossing it).
