Jurassic Animal Print-outs

The Jurassic Period was the middle portion of the Mesozoic Era; it followed the Triassic Period. It lasted from about 206 to 144 million years ago. Huge, long-necked dinosaurs appeared during the Jurassic.

In the Middle Jurassic, the supercontinent Pangaea started to drift apart. There was a minor mass extinction toward the end of the Jurassic period. During this extinction, most of the stegosaurid and enormous sauropod dinosaurs died out, as did many genera of ammonoids, marine reptiles, and bivalves. No one knows what caused this extinction.

The Cretaceous Period followed the Jurassic period.
