The flag of Bosnia and Herzegovina is blue and yellow with white stars in a diagonal arrangement. The flag has a yellow isoceles triangle, two blue areas, and seven five-pointed white stars and two half-stars at the top and bottom. The ratio of its height to its width is 1:2.

This flag was officially adopted on February 4, 1998. Bosnia and Herzegovina declared its independence from the former Yugoslavia in 1991; Bosnia and Herzegovina's new democratic government was formed on December 14, 1995, after years of interethnic civil strife.
