Origin of Breed: The Old English Sheepdog was originally bred in Great Britain in the 1800's. It was first used to herd sheep. It was bred from dogs like the Bergamasco.
Anatomy: The Old English Sheepdog is a heavy dog that is from 22 to 24 inches (56-61 cm) tall at the shoulders and weighs from 65 to 100 pounds (30-45 kg). The long, thick coat covers the eyes and small ears; the color is white, gray, bluish, or grizzled. This dog is thick-set and muscular.
