Use the definitions below to label the California state map.

Arizona - the state that borders California on the southeast, across the Colorado River.
Coast Range - the mountain range that runs along the coast of California. (Label the Coast Range on the map in two places.)
Colorado River - the river that runs along California's southeastern border, separating California from Arizona.
Death Valley - a hot, dry valley in southeastern California near the Nevada border (and southeast of Mt. Whitney); it is the lowest place in North America and is 282 ft (86 m) below sea level.
Eureka - a city in northern California on the Pacific Coast.
Fresno - a city in California's Central Valley.
Los Angeles - a huge city in southern California; located on the Pacific Ocean.
Mexico - the country that borders California on the south.
Mount Whitney - The tallest peak in California; it is 14,494 ft (4418 m) tall and is in the Sierra Nevada Mountains in eastern California.
Nevada - that state that borders California to the northeast.
Oakland - a large city in California located just east of San Francisco.
Oregon - that state that borders California to the north.
Pacific Ocean - the ocean that borders California on the west.
Sacramento - the capital city of California, located in the Central Valley.
Sacramento River - the river that runs through the Central Valley of California, from the northeast corner of California to the San Francisco area.
Salton Sea - the largest body of water in California; this salty inland lake is located in southern Califirnia near the Mexican border.
San Bernardino - a city in southern California; it is located east of Los Angeles.
San Diego - a city in southern California on the Pacific Coast near the Mexican border.
San Francisco - a large city in northern California on a large bay on the Pacific Coast (it is about halfway between Los Angeles and the oregon border).
San Joaquin River - the river that runs through the Central Valley of California, from the central California (in the mountains near Fresno) to the San Francisco area.
San Jose - a city on the Pacific coast of California located just south of San Francisco.
Sierra Nevada Mountains - the mountain range that runs along California's northeastern border.
