Seven Clusters of Sunspots

Seven Clusters of Sunspots

The Sun today, with seven active sunspot clusters visible.

Active Region (AR) 1616 is the hard-to-see cluster at the far left, and AR 1614 is the large complex cluster to its right. Below and to the right of AR 1614 is the barely visible AR 1615. Moving right, you can see AR 1612, and up and to the right of that is AR 1611. In the Southern Hemisphere, AR 1613 is the dark spot in the middle, and AR 1610 is at the far right.
