What is Zoom School?

Zoom School is an on-line schoolroom with many links related to a geographic, scientific, and language-related themes. On each topic, there are pages of information and activities (including printouts and quizzes).

How do I use Zoom School?

Simply click on a picture or link that interests you. You will go to a site related to that subject. Some pages are designed to be used online (to read or do an interactive activity). Other pages are designed to be used as educational printouts. Print them on your printer to use in a classroom or at home.

What subjects are covered?

We have pages on geography, science (including dinosaurs, whales, rainforests, astronomy, animal coloring pages, etc.), explorers, inventors, crafts, rhymes, and language. For activities for pre-readers and early readers, click here. We add new sections all the time. To see our newest pages, click here. For an alphabetical list of all topics, click here.

How are the themes and links chosen?

We add new pages every day. New topics are generally chosen at the request of our visitors. If you have any requests or suggestions for a new theme, activity, or page, please write us.

For whom was Zoom School designed?

Our pages were designed for students of all ages. For activities for pre-readers and early readers, click here. Our Zoom School sites are for proficient readers. On these sites, the early pages are an introduction to the subject. As the reader progresses more deeply into the site (following links to desired topics) the level of the material slowly increases. For example, in Zoom Dinosaurs, the first page on each sub-topic is a general introduction to that topic, like "What is a Dinosaur" or "The Extinction of the Dinosaurs." After going to these sections, the student can then link to pages containing more detail, like pages on "How Dinosaurs are Named" or "The Alvarez Asteroid Theory of Extinction."

How can I use Zoom School in a classroom or for home schooling?

For lesson planning, see the school archives to see the themes that we cover. For teaching grades K-3, we have a page of themes (activities, information, rhymes, quizzes) that are designed to be use in a classroom setting.

Can I link to Zoom School from my own web site?

Yes, please do. Click here to see how.

How do I contact you?
