*** MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR., AND BLACK HISTORY MONTH ***
Martin Luther King Day is Monday, Jan. 20, and all of
February is Black History Month.
Read about Martin Luther King, Jr., and his accomplishments. Also learn about other great African-Americans in history, see history timelines, take quizzes, do cloze activities, print out an African-American history calendar, and more. We've added brand new pages on Supreme Court Justice Thurgood Marshall and businesswoman Madame C. J. Walker, as well as new cloze activities on Martin Luther King, Jr., and Rosa Parks.
*** CRAFTS FOR CHINESE NEW YEAR ***
Chinese New Year falls on February 1 this year; it's the
Year of the Goat (or the Black Sheep).
Make Chinese New Year crafts and cards. Create a dancing dragon, a lantern, tangram puzzles, and paper fireworks. You can also learn about China and say the numbers in Chinese.

*** CRAFTS FOR GROUNDHOG DAY ***
Groundhog Day is celebrated on February 2. Make amusing
groundhog crafts and learn about groundhogs!
*** CRAFTS AND CARDS FOR VALENTINES DAY ***
Make cards and crafts for Valentine's Day, February 14th.
Create simple handmade cards from materials found around
the house. You can also make festive Valentine decorations
and learn how to say "I love you" in many languages.
*** U.S. PRESIDENTS DAY CRAFTS ***
Make crafts for Presidents Day, February 17, and honor
George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, and other U.S.
presidents. Create simple crafts, including a tree of
Presidents, a little log cabin, and many other patriotic
crafts.
*** NEW CALENDARS FOR 2003 ***
Print out many theme calendars for 2003, including
calendars on music theory, endangered animals, astronomy,
and others.
*** NEW QUIZZES TO USE WITH LITTLE EXPLORERS ***
Try our new "Look It Up!" quizzes. To find the answers to
the questions on these printable quizzes, look up the words
in the Little Explorers picture dictionary.
*** CLOZE ACTIVITIES ***
Our printable fill-in-the-blank activities are now listed
both alphabetically and by topic (the topics include
African-Americans, athletes, authors, biography, explorers,
inventors, history, science, and women in history). These
are excellent reading comprehension exercises.

This is a version of our Little Explorers Picture
Dictionary organized by the sound at the beginning of the
word.

We've added many new pages on art to print and color (or
color them online if you have a fast connection). They are
now organized alphabetically, by country, by subject, and
by century.
*** REBUS RHYMES, ALPHABETICALLY AND BY TOPIC ***
Our popular Rebus Rhymes are now listed alphabetically by
title and by first line of the rhyme, as well as by more
than 60 theme topics. We've also added many new Rebus
Rhymes to our collection.

Make a magical leaf image and a thankful leaf wreath.
String a liana tropical vine as a room decoration. Print

We've added more than 20 new outline maps to our collection
of countries around the world, including 13 new pages on
African countries.
These printable outline maps are great to use as a base for many geography activities. Students can use these maps to label physical and political features: continents, countries, cities, bodies of water, mountain ranges, deserts, rain forests, time zones, etc. Students can find and mark where they live, chart the route of a famous explorer, or follow the migration of an animal species.
