the dinosaur your probably thinking of is either giganotosaurus or a newly discoverd dinosaur, but now it shows that t-rex could grow slightly bigger than them. There is other dinos bigger than rex though, like brachiosaurus for example.
from T-master, age ?, ?, ?, ?; October 31, 2001

I think I know what "saurus" you mean, mary k. Giganotosaurus!! Maybe its in the dino dictionary
from Gianna, age ?, ?, ?, ?; October 30, 2001

there was a saurus larger than t rex found but cant find info on it.where can i findout about it?
from mary k., age 65, decatur, il, united states; October 29, 2001

"Gloman,I don't think the Loch Ness is real it is all just a big hoax"
Do u have a reason for thinking it is all just a big hoax???If so I would be interested in hearing it.The Loch Ness Monster could very well be real.U should look at the evidence more closely. These sightings have been going on since the early 1920's.If u still don't belive that...Nessie(I'm tired of saying Loch Ness monster)is real, there are other Nessie-like creatures around the world. There are some that I think aren't real, like Chessie which is probably a large oarfish.

from Gloman, age 13, ?, ?, ?; October 29, 2001

Allosaurus would definitely kill Deinonychus.
from Allosauriscian, age ?, ?, ?, ?; October 29, 2001

There is a section on Non-dinos. Check it out.
from AMD, age 9, ?, ?, ?; October 29, 2001

If your here Gianna, read this.
I'm not going to give my exact age, but I'll tell you, it's been several years since I was your age, but I'm not older than 19.
So now you get a rough idea of how old I am.

Just to add more messages
So what grade are you in Tim? If its not too personal. If you tell me I can guess your age and it wouldn't make me wonder anymore. I'm in 5th. Guess how old I am.

from gianna, age ?, ?, ?, ?; October 28, 2001

JC- Just a quick question- What is it like spending a day reading posts and putting them on the web? Is that what you do all day??
from Tim M., age ?, ?, ?, ?; October 28, 2001
It's a small part of what I do and I do enjoy it. JC

Alpha male deinonuchus! No! Ceratosaurus was NOT way too big. It could be 4m long. And it was in JP3.
from da masta, age ?, ?, ?, ?; October 27, 2001

Just to make new messages, there are few new messages.

So JC, you have to check EVERY SINGLE MESSAGE AND STORY??
Do you like kids?

After the continents came together into Pangaea they divided into two continents Laurasia and Gondwanaland.
from Sean K, age 7, West Chester, Pennsylvania, U.S.A.; October 25, 2001

Okay,I geuss I'm wrong, anyway mymoorapelta and minmi would make a lovely couple. That's just a joke.By the way, nodosaurs and perhaps stegosaurs had a realtive called scelidosaurus.
from Donovan c., age 12, ?, singapore, ?; October 22, 2001

ok of there was any solid evidence that the lochness monster exsists we'd find that in the news paperz or something. unless they only spread sightings through out loch...
from evilneko, age 8, ?, ?, ?; October 22, 2001

"Just like minmi the amoured dinosaur, this dinosaurus has a girl's name but theis dino comes in male and female."

According to the DOL Omnipedia, the name Minmi is masculine. Mymoorapelta is an ankylosaur with a feminine name.
from Brad, age 14, Fenelon Falls, ON, Canada; October 22, 2001

Yesiree, that monster is a pachyderm.Loch ness monster,I doubt there is one.I doubt it is a mle or female.Because of the name it might be a female but I'd would say its a male.Just like minmi the amoured dinosaur, this dinosaurus has a girl's name but theis dino comes in male and female.
from Donovan c., age 12, ?, singapore, ?; October 22, 2001

Cool!
from Gianna, age ?, ?, ?, ?; October 21, 2001

This Afican "monster" is based on alleged sightings by Congo residents. Some people claim it is a sauropod, but most now think it was simply a large Pachyderm
from Tim M., age ?, ?, ?, ?; October 21, 2001

I concur with you Tim M.There is no evidence that the loch ness monster existed. But there is a second loch ness in congo called"Mokele mbembe" To some it looks like a sauropod but others,it is rather rhino-like.
from Donovan c., age 12, ?, singapore, ?; October 20, 2001

Hey, JC!
Is this forum a little bit faster now?

from Gianna, age ?, ?, ?, ?; October 20, 2001
I put the dino forum postings online at the same time that I post the dinotalk postings. There is no difference in the two of them with respect to speed of posting. JC

Hey it this one faster
from ?, age ?, ?, ?, ?; October 20, 2001

Although many claims have been made, there is no SOLID evidence that the loch ness monster exists
from Tim M., age ?, ?, ?, ?; October 20, 2001

"Does anybody know why dinosaurs grew so big? Was gravity less back then?"

Why yes, yes it was. The Earth was smaller and therefore less gravity was exerted.
from Skeptic, age 13, Toronto, ?, ?; October 19, 2001

Gloman I dont think the loch ness monster is real i think its all a big hoax
from Tom G, age ?, ?, ?, ?; October 18, 2001

Does anyone here belive that the Loch Ness Monster is real?I have been studying it since I was 4 years old.I am still afraid to go to the Loch myself, because I do not want to see the monster in person!
from Gloman, age 13, ?, ?, ?; October 17, 2001

from Tim M., age ?, ?, ?, ?; October 11, 2001

dear jc

what is the difference between dino talk and dino science forum?
Just wondering.

from ?, age ?, ?, ?, ?; October 11, 2001
We started this page due to requests from dinotalk users who wanted a page for purely scientific discussions about dinosaurs (and to relegate the less rigorous discussions to dinotalk). This scheme did not last long. JC

Bill k, pteranadon was the pterosaur in Jp3.
from Velociraptor, age ?, ?, ?, ?; October 7, 2001

Hey JC? Do you know why it takes so lng for new posts to appear on this page? Is it because people don't post anything? I'd like to know.
from Tim M., age ?, ?, ?, ?; October 3, 2001
I don't know why, but this forum is not used a lot lately. Most of the serious scientific discussions of dinosaurs have moved to dinotalk. JC

There is a website thats called T-rex vs. Spinosaurus. It says that Spinosaurus kill a t-rex but rex could kill Spino. It depended how skilled that perticular dino was
from ?, age ?, ?, ?, ?; October 1, 2001

Allow me to hark back to the T-rex vs Spino/Giganotosaurus debate. Many of your have posted your arguements and opinions and it seems Rex would've beaten off any opposition. However some believe than if an animal was bigger than Rex it automatically makes it better. Not true.
Let's look at Rex's opposition. Spinosaurus was a fisher. This is evident in it's long crocodile like mouth. It was designed to bite into soft skinned fish and marine animals not tough hided dinosaurs. In fact Spinosaurus wouldn't dare try hunt other dinosaurs let alone other predators because of this. It's light boned body would've been more for swimming and moving through shallow waters rather than speed. If Spinosaurus were to come across a Tyrannosaurus on it's travels then it would more than likely avoid it than risk confrontation. In conclusion Rex wins by fear factor alone.
Giganotosaurus. Bigger than T-rex in many ways. But though Giganoto's head was bigger than Rex's, it's jaw, and consequently it's bite, was not. The Tyrannosaurus jaw hinge was huge. It had to accomodate a helluva lot of muscle to power those huge jaws. Giganoto's jaw was longer but the jaw hinge was smaller so less muscle was used in biting. Giganoto's kitchen knife teeth were used for cutting into it's prey, Probably during a hit and run attack as mentioned earlier in this forum. Cutting and slicing requires less power than biting and chomping. Tyrannosaurus was used to hunting heavily defended prey like Triceratops and was weary of any natural defences it's prey had. It could work around them. Giganoto probably hunted large sauropods like Argentinosaurus, which little or no defence other than it's size so Giganoto would not expect it's prey to bite back.
Although Giganoto and rex were of similar body strength, Rex had a more powerful jaw and hunted dangerous prey. In short, Rex wins by experience.
