For younger students: A teacher recently wrote and told of a great way to get students to write. She had two stuffed animal mascots in her classroom. Each animal had a notebook and every weekend a different child took the stuffed animal and the notebook home and wrote about what they did together over the weekend. On Monday mornings the class read, discussed and critiqued the writing. It was a great way to get kids to write and they LOVED it.
