Ada Lovelace (1815-1852) was a groundbreaking woman. Interested in mathematics from a young age, Lovelace met Charles Babbage and saw his computer prototype plans. Fascinated by the designs, she did something revolutionary: she published the first complex programs. Because of this, some point to her as being the very first computer programmer! She was also a trailblazer in women’s education and remains an inspirational role model for girls going into the sciences.
