First, have the students help you label the continents, the oceans, and other major features. Then label where you are on the map.

For each student, a length of yarn will extend from the location of the school to the area that student's ancestors came from. Put a small label at the end with the student's name. Some students will need two or more of these yarn locators.

This bulletin board is a good introduction to geography lessons. Additionally, you can hang the papier-mache globes around the room and make Earth pendants to complete the geography theme. For more geography crafts, click here.

EARTH PENDANT A simple Earth pendant or light-catcher made from glue. These look nice displayed on a bulletin board (use a dark blue backgound, add a few tiny stars, and a large sun for a strange Solar System).

PAPER FAMILY TREE Make a Family Tree from construction paper. You can display all the family trees from your class on a board they will enjoy looking at.

PAPIER-MÂCHÉ GLOBE A globe made from a balloon, newspaper, and flour.
